MEIFU KANSHIKI-KA: The Underworld Forensics Division

A forensic RPG in the afterlife

MEIFU KANSHIKI-KA: The Underworld Forensics Division is a PC detective RPG built around Picross puzzles. You play Kagari Shūji, a police sketch artist who dies at 4:44 a.m. and takes a job examining the dead for the Underworld. Their memories arrive as grids of ink, and solving those grids gives the evidence needed for trials before King Enma.

The eight cases include a man boiled in his bathhouse, a karaoke death with a perfect score, and a funeral for someone still alive. Each victim died at 4:44, and the cases connect to a murder at the Minazuki Library twelve years earlier. Someone in the land of the living keeps getting ahead of the investigation.
