A family across centuries

我姓夏 is a choice-driven historical narrative game for PC, following one family across 2,300 years of Chinese history. You take the role of household head in each generation, beginning in the Warring States period and continuing to the Republic era. Sixteen generations appear across 32 chapters, with two chapters per dynasty.

The story focuses on ordinary family life as the world changes around it. Land, taxes, soldiers, books, marriage and funerals shape each generation’s circumstances. The game opens with a traveling teacher showing a village boy how to write “人,” meaning “person.” Much later, a child practices the same character with a brush.
