Game premise and gameplay

Witch's Wish is a desktop companion application where you interact with a character named Morino Hikari, a 17-year-old apprentice witch. She occupies a small room on your desktop that includes a desk, bookshelf, mirror, and a window. Unlike a virtual pet, Hikari has her own will and engages in various activities, like reading spellbooks or writing in her diary, while you work. You may also prepare her for journeys by packing items such as food, charms, and gifts, which influence where she goes and what she might bring back.

Exploring the world

The game is set in a continent called Melkran, which features six regions and twelve major destinations, along with hidden places that can be discovered during Hikari’s travels. While away, she sends you postcards detailing her adventures, complete with illustrations and handwritten greetings. There are over 150 unique illustrations you can receive, depicting various landscapes, adventures, and personal thoughts from her journeys.
