Naval combat

Wind and Splinters is a multiplayer arcade shooter with simulation elements, set in battles between Pirates and the Trading Company. You steer a ship, manage its crew, and try to sink the opposing vessel while keeping your own afloat. Hulls are made from individual planks, so cannonballs leave holes where they hit. A breached ship takes on water; targeting an enemy mast can also limit its movement.

Weapons and crew

Cannons aren't the only way to fight. At close range, you can shoot enemy crew with a musket or pistol, taking cover while you reload, or board a nearby ship with a saber. Melee fights call for parrying and movement. Your sailors operate cannons, use muskets, and defend against boarders, but the crew is limited. A ship is defeated when nobody remains to fight.
