Warlords Gambit

About the game

Warlords Gambit is a roguelite strategy game set during the final days of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Players take on the role of leaders from the Three Kingdoms tasked with reclaiming fallen cities after the Abyss has invaded. The game combines hero collection, auto-battles, tactical formations, and team building. Each playthrough starts with a limited selection of heroes and resources, and players navigate randomly generated maps while fighting enemies and making decisions that impact their campaigns.

Combat mechanics

Before each battle, you arrange your heroes and determine their positions in a tactical formation. The layout affects how abilities work during combat. Once a fight begins, heroes automatically act based on their Rage and abilities. Key decisions happen prior to combat as you adjust your formation, predict enemy attacks, and prepare for crucial moments during battle.
