Game overview

UDONGAIN is a fan-made vertical-scrolling 2D shooter based on the Touhou Project. Players control one of 26 playable characters, moving and shooting while defeating enemies to level up. The game offers two modes: UdonGain Mode, which features arcade-style routes, and Alternative Mode, designed for score attacks.

Combat and mechanics

The core gameplay involves moving through a vibrant battlefield, shooting at enemies to gain SP. Defeating enemies increases SP, and once a threshold is reached, players level up. Leveling up enhances the player's shots and restores HP, but also raises the difficulty. Collecting "Gain" points is central to survival; players earn points by defeating enemies, destroying bosses, and shooting Udon boxes. Accumulating Gain provides various benefits, such as activating an auto-bomb upon taking a hit or enabling automatic HP recovery when enough points are gathered.
