The Resistance: Behind Enemy Lines

Guerrilla resistance in China

The Resistance: Behind Enemy Lines is a single-player strategy game set in northern China from 1938 to 1940, during resistance to the Japanese invasion. You lead a guerrilla unit, rebuild strongholds with local soldiers and civilians, manage production, and fight enemy troops in top-down combat. The historical setting is real, but the principal characters, villages, and individual missions are fictional.

Building a stronghold

You divide limited resources among production, recruitment, equipment upgrades, and defenses. Investing in supplies can prepare you for later, while fortifying an exposed approach can help with the next attack. You build and upgrade facilities by walking up to construction sites, and your choices shape the village.
