The Painting War: Three Thrones

Formation-building autobattler

The Painting War: Three Thrones is a grid-based formation-building autobattler for PC. Before each battle, you arrange paper, scenery, generals, soldiers, equipment and tomes on a limited grid. Each piece has a shape, footprint and orientation, so rotating a portrait, moving an item or changing a connection can alter the space available and where units will fight.

Paper marks valid space, while scenery and portraits occupy separate layers. The formation is the battlefield plan: units fight from the tiles you assign during preparation, rather than roaming or finding paths once combat starts.
