The Official's Path

A civil service career

The Official's Path is a text-based career simulation for PC about working as a civil servant from your early twenties to retirement at sixty. You make choices in response to events at work, at home and in society, shaping a career with no single set of right answers. Staying true to your principles, going with the flow, climbing steadily or taking shortcuts can each bring different costs.

Monthly events and attributes

Events trigger randomly each month, with three options that lead to different outcomes. The game tracks 14 attributes in real time, including writing skills, networking, integrity, energy, stress, family harmony, money and reputation. Choices can involve trade-offs: a positive option might drain energy, while a negative one can create hidden risks.
