The Backrooms: Recursion is a cooperative psychological horror game for one to four players, set in an endless maze of abandoned environments. You search for answers while trying to survive deadly encounters with something that watches from the darkness. The game is an original take on the Backrooms concept, focused on environmental storytelling and adaptive enemy behavior rather than established community lore.

Stealth and survival

You move through large, interconnected levels, staying together and avoiding enemies. Stealth is central to survival, and enemy AI reacts to what’s happening around it. Visibility changes with your movement and posture, as well as with shadows and flashlight use. Multiple difficulty settings let you adjust the challenge.
