Tale of Ronin

The Journey of a Fallen Samurai in Tale of Ronin

In Tale of Ronin, players follow the poignant story of Akira, a disgraced samurai navigating the changing landscape of Edo Japan. Having survived the fall of Osaka, Akira carries a bittersweet task from his late lord: delivering a death poem to the monk Takuan. As he wanders through a world riddled with distrust toward outsiders, players experience the emotional weight of his journey and the human connections forged along the way.

Navigating a World of Distrust and Obligation

The game immerses players in Akira’s life as a ronin, a masterless samurai often met with closed gates and cautious glances. Under Tokugawa rule, former loyalties mean little, and social dynamics have shifted dramatically. Villagers, monks, and other ronin present complex interactions, each encounter laden with opportunities for character development, moral choices, and narrative depth.
