STRATA

Drilling and defence

STRATA is a PC arcade descent game in which you pilot a drilling capsule from a surface dome into procedurally generated rock. You cut through cells of dirt, clay, stone, shale, granite, basalt, obsidian and ironstone, with each layer harder than the last. Depth is your score, but going deeper also leaves the dome exposed to attacks.

Mining and firing your gun use the same heat meter. Spending heat to drill means having less available to defend yourself, and waves attack the dome whether you’re underground or not. Each push farther down is a trade against what the surface may lose while you’re away.
