A siege funded by mining

Stone & Throne is a rogue-lite reverse tower defense game for PC, set beneath the Iron Mountain, where you mine for resources and lead an army against a fortress. The castle’s towers defend its walls; your task is to break through them. What you dig up below helps pay for the fight above, tying mining runs to turn-based sieges.

Mining below the battlefield

In the mine, you swing a hook and time your throws to pull up gold, stone and rare finds. Your basket holds only so much. Once it’s full, the load travels to the surface, and mining pauses until it arrives. Sending it up early wastes part of the run, but waiting too long risks losing time you need for the siege. The gold arrives all at once, so deciding when to send the haul is part of managing the campaign.
