Game premise and mechanics

Starlathe is a 2D top-down space simulation game set in a galaxy that operates in real-time. Players manage and interact with a dynamic economy and environment across 150 sectors. You can mine resources from asteroid fields, trade goods, engage in fleet battles, or become a pirate. Every action impacts the game world, as activities like transport and combat happen without player intervention.

Resource management and trade

In the game, you start with a small ship and have multiple avenues to pursue. Mining allows you to extract ore, which you can refine and trade. The economy reacts to supply and demand across more than 50 types of goods, meaning you will need to strategize when and where to buy and sell. Crafting plays a role as well, allowing for the creation of weapons, ship modules, and even entire ships through a detailed production chain.
