Game premise and mechanics

SPINDLEDRIFT is a top-down space trading game focused on a dynamic economy. You take on the role of a trader in a space setting where prices fluctuate based on production, consumption, and resource depletion at various stations. You need to identify profitable routes for trading goods and react to competition as other traders enter the market to exploit those same opportunities. The challenge lies in continuously seeking new, untapped routes for cargo transport before other players do.

Transportation and ship types

The game includes six types of ships, ranging from a starter skiff to a capital freighter. Each ship has different characteristics, such as weight and cargo capacity, which affect how they handle during flights. A loaded freighter and an empty scout will maneuver differently, which influences strategy when planning routes and engagements.
