Somnesis: The PSX Tapes

A cursed console

Somnesis: The PSX Tapes is a PC horror game set in the early 2000s. After moving into a new home, you find a 90s console, CRT monitor, and stack of unmarked cartridges in the attic. You play the games despite your father’s warning to wait until morning. Their low-poly worlds grow disturbing as the curse begins to reach your bedroom.

Playing and hiding

You progress through the cartridges on the CRT while keeping watch over your room. When entities emerge from the screen, you need to notice cues around the bedroom and find somewhere to hide. The games start out harmless-looking, then deteriorate into surreal psychological nightmares, with CRT distortions and atmospheric audio accompanying the changes.
