Chess roguelike

Slay the King is a PC chess roguelike about breaking the rules of chess to take the king. You fight on a chessboard, adding augments to pieces rather than playing by standard chess rules.

Piece augments

Each piece has augment slots, filled from a pool of over a hundred upgrades across Movement, Combat, Support and the rare, build-defining Prismatic category. A pawn with Deal with the Devil moves like a queen, but if it dies, you lose 20 HP. Unstable TNT makes a pawn explode after 1-6 turns, or when it’s eaten. Blunder?? lets you rewind the battle four turns once per fight.
