Mystery in Deepwood Valley

Scapegoat is a mystery game for PC, with single-player and multiplayer modes. In the single-player story, you play Grey, hired by the Duke to investigate trade caravan disappearances in Deepwood Valley. When you arrive at the local inn, a merchant named Aldric is found dead. You must investigate the killing, identify the murderer and clear the person being framed as the scapegoat.

Interrogating the inn

The case unfolds through conversations with the inn’s residents. You can question them, befriend them or terrorize them, and type questions or speak aloud using locally run speech recognition. In single-player, the characters use an AI language model to improvise dialogue based on their established personalities and stories. Their characters, art and story were created by humans, and the AI runs offline on your PC.
