River Whisker

A riverbank on your desktop

River Whisker is a desktop companion game for PC, with a hand-painted riverbank, an angler and nine cats. It sits in a corner of your screen while you work. The angler fishes on their own, and cats gradually start visiting as they get to know you. You can move the scene to the bottom-left or bottom-right, choose from three sizes, keep it on top of other windows or have it fade when your mouse is elsewhere. It can also tuck into the tray, and a click on the tent opens the full painting.

Fishing and cat visits

You can watch the angler or reel in a fish yourself when the float dips. Cats leave coins after eating, and a fresh fish marked with a star is their favourite. Six cats visit the basket, each with a temperament and preferred fish. One washes their face after eating; another can sleep through a fish being caught. The other three appear in special weather: one rainy-day visitor wears a green cloak and carries a gourd, while the cats that come in snow and heat are left for you to find.
