Retired Waves

Reflecting on Architecture in Retired Waves

Retired Waves captivates players with its thought-provoking narrative, inviting them into an introspective journey that unfolds over roughly 30 minutes. This game, developed by Bing Liu, stands apart from traditional video games by eschewing set mechanics and goals. Instead, players wander through the labyrinth of a being's thoughts, contemplating the deeper meanings behind architecture.

The Heart of the Narrative Experience

In a landscape where typical objectives live, Retired Waves easily defies convention. The player finds themselves immersed in a rich tableau of reflections and musings that prompt personal interpretation. The game’s structure invites exploration, allowing players to resonate with its themes in an unhurried manner. Here, narrative reigns as the core experience, with the player becoming an active participant in a philosophical dialogue.
