Top-down racing

Rennspiel is a PC top-down racer built around crowded tracks and weapons. You race in fields of up to 16, using nitro to push your speed and rockets, mines or oil to hinder the cars around you. The whole corner stays on screen, so you can watch the pack and plan your line without losing sight of the race.

Weapons and track hazards

Each car carries three rockets, three charges of nitro and one rear weapon, either a mine or oil slick selected in the garage. Rockets fire forward. A mine won’t hit the car that dropped it until that car has driven clear; after that, its owner is vulnerable too. Oil stays on the road for three laps, fading as it soaks away, so a corner can become dangerous well after the first car passes.
