Red Faction drops players into the dusty mining colonies of Mars, where corporate oppression has pushed workers to their breaking point. The Ultor Corporation promised a better life among the red rocks, but delivered plague, abuse, and exploitation instead. Revolution simmers beneath the surface as miners prepare to fight back against their corporate overlords.

The game's signature Geo-Mod technology lets players blast through walls, collapse tunnels, and reshape entire battlefields in real-time. Unlike scripted destruction sequences, this system responds to player actions with arbitrary geometry modification. Dig new paths through rock faces, create shortcuts by blowing holes in walls, or bring down entire structures on enemies. The environment becomes both weapon and tactical element.

First-Person Combat Across 20 Levels

Combat spans diverse locations from underground mining tunnels to Martian surface installations. Fifteen weapons range from standard firearms to explosive devices capable of massive environmental damage. The first-person shooter action emphasizes both stealth infiltration and direct assault approaches, with objectives that adapt to player choice. Location-based damage affects enemy behavior and tactics.

Vehicle Combat and Exploration

Five different vehicles expand gameplay beyond on-foot action. Players commandeer land rovers for surface exploration, submarines for underwater sections, and aircraft for aerial combat.
