A descent into the earth

Project: Esper is a traditional turn-based, grid-based roguelike for PC. Your god sends you into the earth to find its altar and present yourself there. You descend through the dungeon, take what you can, and die; permadeath means starting another run.

Powers with conditions

Items don’t simply grant effects that stay active once you acquire them. Each effect has a condition, and stronger effects have stranger requirements. A ring protects you from fire while you’re standing in water. An axe hits with great force while something in the room is bleeding. A crown makes you untouchable if a copy of it is on a throne in another plane.
