PREEMINENCE: World on the Brink is a PC political and economic simulation about governing one of more than 200 real countries, as it stands on 1 January 2026. You make decisions day by day, balancing debt, public services, voters and the survival of your government. You can pause the clock to consider a choice, then restart it and see its effects unfold.

The statistics office publishes new figures on the first of each month. Economic changes take time: growth, inflation and unemployment respond months after decisions on taxes, spending and interest rates. You set the central bank’s rate, write the budget line by line and adjust tax rates. Borrow for too long, and markets can stop lending.
