Peregon

A wartime railway station

Peregon is a PC dispatching game set at a small station on the St. Petersburg, Warsaw Railway in 1915, a few hours from the front. You’re the duty officer, routing troop trains, hospital trains, supply trains and refugee wagons through a station with a wooden house, water tower, coal yard and a handful of tracks. There are no battles at the station. Your work is to receive trains, get them serviced and send them on time, though there’s rarely time to handle every train promptly.

Tracks and traffic

Each track serves a different purpose. Track 1 has the passenger platform, where wounded passengers get off and evacuees board. Track 2 lets transit trains pass through. Track 5 has the water tower, coal yard and unloading area for trains that need service or carry supplies. Trains need tracks with the right facilities: a hospital train needs a platform, while an engine without water needs the tower. Some tracks are closed at first and can be opened later.
