Game premise and mechanics

Paydirt is a cosy incremental prospecting game where you wash dirt, pick out valuable items, and progressively upgrade your equipment. You begin as a hobbyist but quickly find that this pastime spirals as you invest in better bags to collect and refine your findings. Each new bag presents new challenges, requiring you to find specific solutions, such as dealing with fool's gold or stubborn black sand.

Tools and upgrades

You can acquire various tools to improve your effectiveness in the game. These include a magnet to deal with magnetic clumps, a bar of soap for cleaning, and a hammer for breaking down items like quartz. You'll also find yourself needing a beam scale to evaluate your finds and a crucible once you start looking for higher quality gold.
