Pay the House

Cigarette card roguelike

Pay the House is a PC pack-opening roguelike set during Prohibition. You owe money to The House, and cigarette cards are the only trade you have. You rip open packs, complete card sets and use them to cover payments.

Debt and cards

Every third time you pay The House, the payment doubles. That growing debt shapes the game’s loop: keep opening packs and completing sets to meet what you owe, or pawn cards you need. You can also borrow from the shark, then keep opening packs to try to cover the bill.
