Pawned Souls

Chess-inspired combat

Pawned Souls is a soulslike combat game for PC where you play as a single pawn on a chessboard. You move forward, strike diagonally, and defeat every enemy piece to claim your promotion.

Enemy pieces

Each enemy follows chess-style movement and attacks. Pawns attack one tile diagonally, while knights jump over tiles to strike in an L-shape. Bishops attack along long diagonals and can use a special projectile attack; rooks make long-range line attacks and have a special area-of-effect attack.
