ODYSSEY: Wine-Dark Sea

Game premise and mechanics

ODYSSEY: Wine-Dark Sea is a narrative roguelite expedition set in the aftermath of Troy's fall. You control a group of twenty-eight men as they try to return home through treacherous waters filled with mythical challenges. The game involves charting a course across the Aegean Sea, managing resources like food and wine, and making difficult choices about your crew's fate. Each decision impacts the outcome of your journey, with the potential to mirror the fate of Odysseus, who returned alone.

Exploration and choices

As you navigate the sea, you face a branching chart that includes classic elements from Homer's Odyssey, like encounters with the Cyclops, Scylla, and the Sirens. Each encounter presents brutal decisions without clear right or wrong answers. You must decide which members of your crew to sacrifice to appease these mythological threats, emphasizing the weight of your choices over mere resource management.
