NII-058

A downward escape

NII-058 is a PC horror game about escaping a sealed institute. You came at night to take copper, fell through the roof, and now have to get out by going down through the building, its flooded basement, and a civil defence shelter beneath the yard. The escape takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

Tools and hiding

You use a flashlight and tools found inside to clear obstacles: pour petrol into a generator, cut mesh with bolt cutters, pry doors with a crowbar, drain water with valves, and carry fuses to a dead box. Something walks the corridors and listens. You can track its steps, hold your breath in a locker or under a table, or run and slam a door behind you. The flashlight’s heavy beam stays still as you walk, but it also gives away your position.
