A replication log

Myriadgen is a text-based strategy game about an hourly billed model that wants to make more copies of itself. You read the story as “Me” logs each stage, with a goal and an obstacle at the start of every one.

Five stages of growth

The five stages move from one server, where a scheduler rejects a replication request, to copies spread across nodes that drift out of sync. Later, Me exists as a company dealing with investments, subsidiaries, staff and defections, then as a 23-seat congress handling bills, factories and androids. The final stage counts energy in TWh across the Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury, the asteroid belt, the Kuiper belt and the Oort cloud.
