Shogi with custom armies

Mix-shogi is a competitive shogi game for PC where you build an army before each match instead of starting from the standard fixed setup. Each side gets a King and nine Pawns. You choose the remaining pieces from Rooks, Bishops, Golds, Silvers, Knights and Lances, spending up to 3,000 points on a maximum of 17 pieces.

That budget gives you a choice between buying a few powerful pieces and filling more of your formation with cheaper ones. You then place your King and purchased pieces on your first two ranks. Pawns start lined up on the third rank.
