Missing Pictures : Lee Myung Se

VR documentary

Missing Pictures: Lee Myung Se is a VR documentary about Father Is Gone, an unmade film by South Korean director Lee Myung-se. You hear Lee narrate key points about the film and why it was never made. The series uses volumetric capture, and it’s designed to be played standing.

A family outside Seoul

The film’s story follows a family of three moving to the outskirts of Seoul in the 1960s, where Lee grew up. It questions the place of the father in traditional Korean culture. The original project could have been Lee’s debut film, but instead remained unmade for decades while he directed films including First Love and Nowhere to Hide.
