Lock 87

Game overview

Lock 87 is a PC-based puzzle and simulation game set in 1992 in the East Grindle District. Players take on the role of an employee at Lock 87, an isolated checkpoint operated by the Central Canal Authority. The primary tasks involve checking cargo vessel documents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and operating the lock's industrial machinery to facilitate the passage of vessels.

Document inspection

When a vessel requests passage, players receive its documents through a slot in the bunker wall. You must examine various permits, cargo declarations, itineraries, and vessel records, all while adapting to a frequently changing set of regulations. Accurate inspections are crucial, as approving illegitimate traffic or making errors may lead to serious consequences.
