Game premise and objectives

John Whisk is an action roguelite set in a kitchen dungeon filled with hostile ingredients. Players control a chef who must descend through several floors, battling food that fights back, like hopping carrots and exploding corn, while collecting loot in the form of ingredients. The main objective is to defeat enemies to fill your pouch with ingredients, which you can either bank after defeating a floor boss or risk losing by going deeper into the dungeon.

Combat and mechanics

Combat primarily involves using a pan and a cleaver to defeat various food-themed enemies. You face different challenges on each floor, with stronger enemies appearing as you progress further. After defeating a floor boss, you choose between going back to your kitchen with collected ingredients or continuing deeper into the challenging dungeon. Each enemy you kill drops ingredients, which can be used for cooking once you return to the kitchen.
