Islands of the Caliph

A Journey Through Ancient Seas in Islands of the Caliph

In Islands of the Caliph, players are thrust into a realm inspired by Middle Eastern folklore and ancient seafaring civilizations. Designed by solo developer Schmidt Workshops, this PC action RPG calls back to the classics of the genre, capturing the essence of the 1980s with its keyboard-only input and traditional game mechanics. Players will encounter a rich landscape filled with mythical creatures and dire challenges as they navigate this vibrant world.

Real-Time Combat with Classic Mechanics

The game combines grid-based movement with real-time combat, reminiscent of titles like Might & Magic and Questron. This hybrid gameplay allows for both strategic exploration and immediate action, making each encounter feel exciting and dynamic. Players will face off against a variety of foes, ranging from giant spiders and scorpions to supernatural beings such as ghouls and jinn. Each battle sends players on a quest to master their skills and adapt to the diverse threats of the environment.
