Kanji compound puzzles

和同開珎オンライン is a Japanese-language kanji puzzle game for PC. Each puzzle shows four kanji around an empty center square. You enter one kanji in the middle to form four two-character compound words, pairing it with the kanji above, below, left, and right. The puzzles use more than 6,000 compounds, and you need to read Japanese kanji to play.

Missions and solo modes

The Missions mode has 100 missions containing 1,000 puzzles, ordered from easier material at an early elementary-school level to rare kanji from the highest Kanji Kentei grades. Once you solve a puzzle, the game shows the readings and meanings of all four words. It records encountered words in a Word Collection, and correct answers help creatures in an aquarium grow.
