Game premise and mechanics

Gooboventure is a platforming game where you control a blob of goo named Goobo. The objective is to find all the villagers scattered by a flood before winter arrives. You navigate the terrain using movement mechanics specific to a gelatinous form: jumping causes you to stretch, landing makes you splat, and squeezing allows you to pass through tight spaces. The game introduces jumps, wall jumps, dashes, and double jumps gradually, with each new mechanic unlocking previously inaccessible areas.

Combat and abilities

Combat in the game revolves around your goo, which serves both as health and as ammunition. You lose pieces of goo when you take damage, but can recharge by fighting enemies. Initially, Goobo can't attack, but you learn to punch through a warrior you encounter. As you progress, you gain access to various abilities like rolling, using a spear hand, or summoning a shell or blade, each consuming different amounts of ability slots.
