Fungal Field

Ecological sandbox

Fungal Field is a PC ecological sandbox about starting a fungal colony on an island and changing the conditions around it. You plant a fungal seed, then nurture the ground and watch the organism grow. You don't place each mushroom or direct every branch. Instead, you influence the soil and see how the colony responds.

Mycelium and soil

The mushrooms above ground are part of a larger network. Mycelium branches through the soil, drawing in nutrients and supporting new clusters. You can moisten dry ground and enrich the soil to give the colony a better chance to grow. As its network spreads, it can meet other networks, compete with them and form boundaries.
