Ex Oblivione

A Lovecraft sound novel

Ex Oblivione is a typography-driven sound novel for PC, based on H. P. Lovecraft’s 1921 text. A man dreams his way toward a gate and what lies beyond it. You read the words on screen while English narration, music, and sound design carry the story.

There are six dreams, each built from the same eleven paragraphs. The first uses Lovecraft’s original text unchanged; the next five retell it through other traditions of thought. The ending stays the same, but each version approaches it by a different route.
