Dig Out

A platformer about Echo

Dig Out is an atmospheric 2D platformer about Echo, who wakes up in the middle of something he can’t name. You guide him through the world as he tries to find out who he is. The game tells that story through how Echo moves and sees, rather than explaining what’s happening outright.

Echo carries three Essences: his mood, vitality and awareness. They drain over time and when creatures touch him. As they fall, he slows down, his jumps get shorter and the world grows dark. When Echo can barely breathe, the controls reflect that state.
