DENIED: Zarya-9

Checkpoint inspection

DENIED: Zarya-9 is a PC inspection game set at a highway checkpoint in the People’s Republic of Belozor in winter 1986. You work the night shift, checking cars against state records and deciding whether to approve, deny, or detain them. The work is paid per car, while your heat bill is due and your family writes each night.

At the booth’s RVM-6 terminal, you enter license plates and compare the records with the cars and documents in front of you. Your checklist covers conflicts such as the wrong vehicle model, a stolen plate, a forged stamp, or a record that shouldn’t exist. You also have to follow each shift’s new bulletin and decide when the terminal’s information can be trusted.
