Game premise and objective

Demons of the Dread Sea is a pirate-themed dice-builder roguelite set in a dark fantasy interpretation of the 17th century Baltic Sea. Players take on the role of a Captain who has made a devil's bargain to manipulate luck. The objective is to gather a crew, equip a ship, and customize dice in order to build notoriety by defeating other ships and taking their cargo. The player must manage luck, as pushing it too far can lead to consequences, including the degradation and corruption of dice.

Crew and clans

Players can gather their crew from different privateer clans, each with unique characteristics and playstyles. The Rauðr (the Red Clan) focuses on damage and aggression, while the Grǿnn (the Green Clan) offers strong defense and loyalty. The Svartr (the Black Clan) is known for its chaotic and secretive mystics, specializing in strategies involving corrosion and decay. The synergy between the chosen crew and customized dice is critical for success in encounters on the Dread Sea.
