Dark Years

Unraveling a Dark Storyline in Dark Years

Set in the tense backdrop of 1953 Tehran, Dark Years plunges players into a gripping narrative inspired by true events. The city is reeling from a wave of gruesome murders, while a determined Major Afshar races against time to uncover the culprits. Meanwhile, an Iranian journalist in London stumbles upon documents that could expose shocking truths. As both characters pursue their leads, their stories intertwine amidst a conspiracy involving Western interests, culminating in a chaotic coup.

Exploring a Complex Historical Context

Rooted in the real events of 'Operation Ajax,' Dark Years offers players insight into a pivotal moment in Iranian history. Striving to control Iran's oil resources, American and British governments covertly engineered a coup against the democratically elected Prime Minister, Mohammad Mosaddegh. The consequences of this operation led to significant turmoil in the region. With its focus on historical accuracy, the game invites players to reflect on a lesser-known chapter of the Cold War era.
