Curse Appraiser

Game premise and mechanics

Curse Appraiser is a PC game that simulates the management of a pawnshop. You take on the role of an appraiser in a pawnshop that has been closed for years. Your father left behind a counter and a half-burned ledger, and players engage with various customers who bring items of unknown value to sell. Using unique appraisal abilities, you determine four key attributes of each item: Grade, Authenticity, Quality, and Curse.

Appraisal system

During the day, you use appraisal tools to estimate an item’s value, but the true nature of the object is only revealed at night by the Royal Appraisers. This adds a layer of risk, as incorrect judgments can lead to penalties. Your abilities to discern the hidden details within items create a core part of the gameplay.
