Vietnam War strategy

Crimson Haze is a PC real-time strategy game set during the Vietnam War. You command an air-mobile company through jungle, flooded paddies, villages and landing zones, directing squads while managing reconnaissance, positions and casualties. The campaign follows fictional soldier Danny Mercer and the men around him in the 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry, in 1965 and 1966.

Helicopters and support

Helicopters carry rifle squads onto the battlefield, bring reinforcements and evacuate wounded soldiers. You can also call gunships against tree lines and hidden positions, mark targets for artillery and napalm, and use flares to light the night. Aircraft can be shot down, including with soldiers aboard, so landing in a contested zone carries a risk.
