Company Coal is a PC mining game set in 1887, where you work for a company that pays you in its own scrip. You can dig alone or work with friends in online co-op. Your job is to mine coal and other valuable materials, meet the company’s daily quota, and keep up with a debt that grows with daily compound interest.
The company charges you for tools, lodging, and even the air you breathe. Your wages are usable at the Company store, so each shift’s haul has to cover the quota and the mounting costs.
