City of Tales

Story and setting

City of Tales is a narrative card game for PC set in a dark metropolis of concrete, thorns, and neon lights. The Enchanted Forest is gone, and fairy tale characters are frozen in unfinished stories. You play as Red, seeking to restore the Plot, the force that once governed the Fairy Tale World, while the story questions whether bringing it back is the right choice.

Maps and cards

Each chapter is a map of face-down cards. You move Red’s token across the grid and flip cards to uncover enemies, items, NPCs, and story-defining moments. Exploring costs Fairy Points, so you need to manage them carefully: spend too many and Red starts to suffer.
