Character Abyss is a turn-based card roguelike for PC where Chinese characters are your cards. Choose the Scholar or Talismanist class and descend into a procedurally generated Abyss, following branching paths and fighting spirit-characters.

Building a deck in combat

You use character cards in turn-based battles, managing resources and building a deck around effects tied to each character’s meaning. As a Scholar, you combine two characters during combat to create a new card. For example, Fire and Mountain can form Volcano, which has its own effect. The Talismanist instead prepares powerful talismans before combat.
