By The Sea : Pilgrimage of the Colorless

A pilgrimage through Monet paintings

By The Sea: Pilgrimage of the Colorless is a quiet walking game for PC, set inside more than a hundred paintings by Claude Monet. You guide a soldier returning from the Great War, carrying his wife’s ashes on a pilgrimage to the sea. The route passes the house on a cliff, places tied to their life together, a bridge, a harbor and the shore.

The story unfolds across six chapters and an epilogue. The soldier has lost his color, and memories change it as he travels: happy memories restore some, while memories of war take it away again. The story has no dialogue or tutorial text.
